1. What part of triathlon do you like the most and why?

The best parts are the rising anxiety on the beach, pushing the bike and passing people, and finding legs during the run. Picking one: the bike.

2. What part of triathlon do you like the least and why?

The parts I like least are cramping in long swims and getting out of my wetsuit (it's tight!).

3. For this year of racing, what are you doing to get faster?

Swimming longer yards and kicking more so I have a better long swim base and am less likely to cramp. Doing a proper 24-week training progression for the Boston Marathon so I havew a better run base for the tri season.

4. What's the best advice you can give others who want to get faster?

Pick one important thing each season and focus on it. More run miles, running with faster people, getting a coach, more long training rides, whatever. Do it!

5. People race for a variety of reasons. A few are because they are "adrenaline junkies," crave the competition, love the camaraderie, see it as a way to measure or validate improvement and/or fitness, want to "show off" their prowess, like being timed, love being outdoors in different locations, and want finisher's shirt or medal or (for pros) income. Why do you race?

I love to complete, go fast, test my limits and be with like minded people. It the perfect environment for my type A personality.
