Sizzle!

It's one of those weeks, when the pavement heats up your soles, when the air is heavy, when the sun is stronger, when the breeze is hot.

One of those weeks when your 5 miler becomes 3, your 7 miler becomes 5 and you drop the hard middle set of the track workout to shorten it.

One of those weeks when your coach says "we aren't going to do the 20 miler tomorrow morning because the heat index will be over 100 before you finish."

One of those weeks when your log will have an unexpected descent in mileage, when your build to the race steps back, when you have to rewrite your schedule to get back on track.

It's a week with unexpected rest, probably a good thing, except that it messes with your math and your plan and your athlete's psyche.

It's just one of those weeks.
